The headwaters originate in the Issig Roth Leitener forest at mountain. Up to the crossing of the road passing near the mountain -Roth quarry waters are also known as Krebsbach. The single stone green with the farm name Mohr house is located above the stream. Previously the house was powered by a hydraulic ram with water from the Issig. At the village Reitsenstein the Issig drove to the outside the village mill. In the next place, Issigau, the creek was eponymous. Again, the water of the stream was used for grinding. However, the Issig Auermühle lay in the center. Shortly after Issigau drove the Issig another mill, the New Mill (approx. 510 m), a cutting mill. In hell, a hamlet in the town of Naila at the entrance to the hell valley Issig crosses under a residential street and then the former railway line and ends at about 485 m altitude in the Selbitz, directly opposite the Stebenbach.
