It's Blitz! is the third studio album from New York indie band Yeah Yeah Yeahs. It should be released on 13 April 2009 originally, but the date was brought forward on 22 February 2009 to 10 March due to an Internet Leaks. It's Blitz! was produced by Nick Launay and Dave Sitek. The band says about the album, it would sound different than the predecessor but " still like the Yeah Yeah Yeahs ."

The album was nominated on December 2, 2009 for the Grammy Award for Best Alternative Music Album category.

Recordings

According to Nick Launay, one of the producers, the production and recording of the album was written large and occurred at a time when the record labels were considerably restricted in their budgets for production. The few songs that brought the band to the first sessions were later changed considerably.

The recording sessions took place over several months distributed in 2008. In between, there were always short breaks " for inspiration ".

Title list

All songs were written by Brian Chase, Karen and Nick Zinner Orzolek.

Mauricio Quinones of CDStarts.de gave the album 9 out of 10 and described it as the " most ambitious, reflektierteste and epic work of their career." He described " both Runaway, as well as Dragon Queen" as " incredible songs, breaking new ground in the Yeah Yeah Yeahs universe and the climax of It's Blitz ". He also praised the work of the producers that they had " done a great job. Again comes a splendid set, not simple piece of music from the urban Brooklyn "
