Iván Cervantes

Iván Cervantes Montero ( born 2 May 1982 in Cambrils ) is a multiple of Spanish Enduro World Champion.

Career

Iván Cervantes began his motor racing career in motocross. At the age of 13, he was in the class ³ to 80 cm Spanish masters. He finished third in 1996 in this class. In 1998 he was ³ vice-champion in the class up to 250 cm and won the Trofeo Nacional. In 1999, he finally won then the Spanish Junior title. The following year he was sixth in the championship in the class up to 125 cc and 2001 Fifteenth in the open class.

The following year, he joined the Enduro sport and Spanish champion ³ was in the class above 500 cm. In 2003 he moved to KTM factory team. This year, he defended the title last year and was also the overall winner of the championship. In the World Cup, he finished second behind Juha Salminen. In 2004 he was third in the World Championship in the E3 class (over 250 cc two-stroke / 500 cc four-stroke ), and he also won the Spanish Championship in the 250 cc class and the overall title. These national title he successfully defended in the following year. In 2005 he was also the first Spaniard, Enduro World Champion. This victory in the class E1 (up to 125 cc two-stroke / 250 cc four-stroke ), he was able to repeat 2006. The following year he moved to the E3 class (over 250 cc two-stroke / 500 cc four-stroke ) and closed the season as world champion. In 2008 he drove in the E1 class and finished second overall place. For the 2009 season Cervantes moved back into the E3 class and became world champion.
