Cambrils

Cambrils is located a town with 33 775 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013) a few kilometers west of Tarragona in the heart of the Costa Daurada in the autonomous region of Catalonia, Spain. Cambrils has a long tradition as a fishing village.

The city was founded by the Romans, who called it " Oleastrum " City of olive oil. Many eras long they served different cultures as strategically located village.

The main industry is tourism. The port is mainly used as a marina, it is also found still a small fishing fleet that enters every working day from 16 clock. The sorting of the catch can be observed directly in the harbor.

The traditional local cuisine based on Mediterranean cuisine, complemented by wines from the vineyards of Priorat, Penedès, Tarragona, Montsant and Terra Alta.

The nearest places of cultural significance are Tarragona ( Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO), Mont Blanc, with its medieval town center, the monastery of Poblet at the Cistercian Route Ruta del cittern and Reus, the cradle of Modernisme ( Catalan Art Nouveau ). This area served artists such as Gaudí, Miró, Picasso, and many others as inspiration source.
