Ivan Quaranta
Ivan Quaranta ( born December 14, 1974 in Crema ) is an Italian former racing cyclist.
Ivan Quaranta 1992 Junior World Champion in the sprint on the track. In the following years he devoted himself increasingly to road cycling. His first contract he signed in 1996 with the Italian cycling team Polti began. After two unsuccessful years, he moved in 1998 to Krka - Telekom Slovenije, where he won a stage of the Tour of Normandy for himself. Then he moved to Mobilvetta Design, where he won two stages at the Giro d' Italia in two years. In 2001, he was twice victorious for Alexia Alluminio the Giro. A year later, he celebrated at cross by Gendringen his only previous success in one -day races. In 2003, Quaranta for a season to Saeco, where he won, among others, a stage of the Tour of Germany and the Tour of Qatar.
In the following years Quaranta drove for several smaller teams. In 2000, he made his comeback on the track and played several six-day race. In 2001 he won with Marco Villa the Six Days of Turin and Fiorenzuola d' Arda won in 2002 and 2004, followed by other joint victories with Villa followed in Turin. In 2007 he was Italian champion in the team sprint, together with Roberto Chiappa and Marco Brossi. In the same year Ivan Quaranta ended his cycling career.
