Ivar Böhling

Ivar Theodor Böhling ( born September 10, 1889 in Ingå; † January 12, 1929 in Vyborg ) was a Finnish wrestler in the Greco- Roman style. Ivar Böhling launched in Stockholm in 1912 at the Olympic Games, where he finished second.

Career

In March 1911, he was able for the first time secure the Finnish championship in Vyborg.

A year later he won the silver medal at the Olympic Games in Stockholm. The final battle against the native Anders Ahlgren took 9 hours without a wrestler could be declared the winner. Both, Ahlgren and Böhling received the silver medal. The gold was not awarded. The state championships in the same year he dropped out.

In 1913 he was re- Finnish champion in the light heavyweight division. In 1914 he left the Championships but again and started at the staged in Vienna unofficial European championships. He only fought against the Austrians and was eventually winner before Alois Toduschek.

1915 and 1916 he was again a Finnish champion, both times in the heavy weight 82.5 kg. Where he won the first place in 1915 before four times Finnish champion and later the Olympic champion of Antwerp, Adolf Lindfors.
