Jacek Karpiński ( born April 9, 1927 in Turin, Italy, † February 21, 2010 in Wroclaw, Poland) was a Polish pioneer of computer science.

Karpiński was a soldier of the Batalion Zośka during the Warsaw Uprising. He was responsible for developing one of the first algorithms and techniques for text recognition and image recognition. He was also the designer of the first minicomputers, the K- 202. Because of that policy in the development of computers in Poland, however, this never went into mass production.
