Jacek Koman

Jacek Koman ( born August 15, 1956 in Bielsko- Biala, Poland) is a Polish actor and singer. Since 1991, he starred in about two dozen films and TV series, including Moulin Rouge. He is also the frontman and singer of the Australian- Russian band VulgarGrad.

Biography

Born in the southern Polish twin city of Bielsko- Biała, the son of actor couple, he played - after training at drama school in Łódź -. His first role in the Polish television production Bezposrednie polaczenie from the year 1979 along with his brother Tomek He left Poland in 1982 and pulled - after a brief stopover in Austria - to Melbourne, Australia. The reasons for departure he called for a dissatisfaction with the communist regime, on the other adventure. A significant reason for leaving the country, was the fact that the Polish secret police, he and his brother tried to put them under pressure due to some minor offenses. In Australia, he met the late 1980s and his future wife - the actress Catherine McClements.

After talking teething problems related succeeded Koman to consolidate itself as an actor in his new home. Since 1991 Koman played in about a dozen film productions - including the musical remake of Moulin Rouge (2001 ) Children of Men (2006) and Defiance (2008). There were also roles in a dozen other TV series and TV movies - as well as in the films with a focus on the genres of thriller / police drama, war movie and action. In addition, he plays roles in classic plays - such as in Macbeth and Moliere.

Since 2004, Koman frontman and singer of Melbourne band Vulgargrad - a group that is well versed pesni on Russian criminal songs, called Blatnye.
