Jack Cox (footballer)

John Thomas " Jack" Cox (born 21 December 1877 in Liverpool, † November 11, 1955 in Walton-on -Thames ) was an English football player and coach. Late 19th and early 20th century, he played for FC Blackpool and Liverpool and was two times English champions.

Career

Jack Cox began initially played at the amateur clubs South Shore South Shore Standard and FC before 1897 Blackpool FC in the Football League Second Division, the then second highest league in England, moved. After the midfielder, who played on both the left and on the right wing could, scored twelve goals in 17 league games there, he was hired in February 1898 by Liverpool, where he experienced the peak of his career. He stayed until 1909 when Liverpool and completed a total of 361 games in the league and the FA Cup, in which he scored 79 goals. Then he went back to Blackpool FC, where he held the function of a player coach. In 1911, he then finished his career in which he has also recorded three appearances in the national team.
