Jacques Kallis

Jacques Henry Kallis ( born October 16, 1975 in Cape Town ) is a South African cricketer. In 2005 he was elected to both the ICC Player of the Year as well as the ICC Test Player of the Year. In 2007 he was elected Wisden Leading Cricketer in the World.

Career

Jacques Kallis celebrated his Test debut in December 1995 against England in Durban. He is the only South African cricket player who has scored more than 10,000 runs in Test matches. He is also next to Dudley Nourse, Graeme Pollock and Graeme Smith is one of four South African cricketers who achieved an average of at least 50 runs per wicket in tests. Jacques Kallis is also the only South African cricketer, who scored more than 10,000 runs in One- Day International matches ( ODIs ). This makes it next to Rahul Dravid, Brian Lara, Ricky Ponting and Sachin Tendulkar one of only five cricketers who were able to achieve at least 10,000 runs in Tests and ODIs at. Kallis is not only a great batsman, but also a very good all-rounder. He is the only cricket player to reach 10,000 runs and 250 wickets in both Test matches and ODIs at. Jacques Kallis took part with the South African team to five Cricket World Cups ( 1996, 1999, 2003, 2007 and 2011).
