Jadovnik

Jadovnik ( Serbian Cyrillic Јадовник ) is a mountain in southwestern Serbia. The hercynisch oriented mountain range is about 25 km long, its highest mountain is Katunić 1,734 m above sea level.

Geography

Most of the Jadovnik is covered by forests and meadows. The upper part is covered with coniferous trees and the lower part with mixed forest. Along the southwest side of the Jadovnik leads the main road E763 Prijepolje by Bijelo Polje in Montenegro parallel to the river Lim scattered on the plateau of Jadovnik is the village Stranjani, on the western side lies the village Sopotnica. On its northern side the mountains of Mileševka flow is limited. Through the valley of Mileševka leads the ancient road (No. 8) between Prijepolje and Sjenica. There, the village is Thu Milošev

Tourism

Hotel Tourism is well developed in the field of Jadovnik. The village Sopotnica is the frequent destination for hikers and nature lovers, particularly because of the waterfalls on the eponymous river. In the field of Jadovnik the Orthodox Christian monastery Mileševa is from the 13th century.
