Action
In a bar of spirited Vince Everett is drawn from a stranger in a fight. Vince kicks once too often, dying stranger. Vince is therefore sentenced to 14 months in prison for Negligent homicide. In the prison environment, he develops into an unfeeling cynic. His cellmate, the country singer Hunk Houghton, recognizes after a prison show, which is broadcast on television, that Vince is a singing talent, and takes him under contract.
After Vince 's release learn this Peggy, the young advertising assistant to a record company know. Both start their own record company. Under Peggy's Director Vince is a star. But because of his arrogant nature, he does not realize that Peggy more than just a business partner sees in him - she loves him.
Vince is now also working with his old prison buddy Hunk after his release. Vince treated Hunk but so humiliating that this Vince one day be reflected in anger and critically injured in the larynx. This is his further career in question. Ultimately, however, the injury proves to be harmless, and Vince manage a new start with Peggy's help. He is again a celebrated rock 'n' roll star.

- Filming began on 13 May 1957 in the MGM Studios in Culver City and lasted until 14 June 1957. The premiere was held in Memphis on October 17, 1957. In all other American cinema, the film was on 8 November 1957.
- The actress Judy Tyler died just three weeks after the end of filming in a traffic accident. She was only 24 years old.
