Jalilabad District (Azerbaijan)
Cəlilabad (also Jalilabad ) is a rayon in the south of Azerbaijan. Capital of the district is the city Cəlilabad. The district is bordered to the west by the Iranian province of Ardabil.
Geography
The rayon has an area of 1441 km ². The region is mostly flat, with smaller mountains. The eastern part is below sea level. Through the area, the rivers flow Bolgarchay, Misharchay, Indjachay and Goutepechay.
Population
The rayon had 2009 191.500 inhabitants.
Economy and Transport
The region is dominated by agriculture. There is grain, wine and fruit grown and operated livestock. Through the rayon the street from Bilasuvar goes according to Astara.

In the district there are several archaeological sites and zoroatrische temple.
