James Douglas, 3rd Earl of Angus

James Douglas, 3rd Earl of Angus ( * ca 1428, † 1446 ) was a Scottish nobleman.

James was a son of William Douglas, 2nd Earl of Angus, and his wife Margaret Hay. He succeeded his father as Earl of Angus 1437th On July 1, 1445 his estates and titles were canceled, and soon after but he was rehabilitated. He was married to Joan, nicknamed "the Mute Lady", a deaf-mute daughter of King James I of Scotland. The marriage remained childless, and therefore he was succeeded by his brother George as Earl of Angus.
