James Joseph Daly

James Joseph Daly ( born August 14, 1921 in Bronx, New York City; † October 14, 2013 ) was Auxiliary Bishop of Rockville Centre.

Life

James Joseph Daly studied philosophy and theology at the seminary in Huntington (New York) and received on 22 May 1948 in the Cathedral Basilica of St. James in Brooklyn ordination. He was in the care of souls in Blue Point in Suffolk County ( New York), Richmond Hill and Seaford (New York) worked. From 1958 to 1968 he taught at the diocesan seminary in Huntington. He was Director of Personnel in the Diocese of Rockville Centre, from 1972 pastor in Elmont (New York) 1968.

Pope Paul VI. appointed him on 28 February 1977 Auxiliary Bishop of Rockville Centre and Titular Bishop of Castra Nova. The Bishop of Rockville Centre, John Raymond McGann, consecrated him on 9 May of the same year the bishop; Co-consecrators were Walter Philip Kellenberg, Bishop Emeritus of Rockville Centre, and Vincent John Baldwin, Auxiliary Bishop of Rockville Centre.

On July 1, 1996, Pope John Paul II accepted his resignation age-related.
