James McDougal Hart

James McDougal Hart ( born May 10, 1828 in Kilmarnock, Strathclyde, Scotland, † October 24, 1901 in Brooklyn, New York ) was a Scottish- American painter.

James McDougal Hart was the brother of William Hart and worked with his brother in Albany (New York) for several years as a carriage painter, studied in Dusseldorf under Johann Wilhelm Schirmer landscape painting since 1851 and was after he had again lived four years in Albany, 1856 in New York, where he very well done, lighting partially painted masterful landscapes with cattle decoration.
