James McGuinness (bishop)

James Joseph McGuinness ( born October 2, 1925 in Derry City, Northern Ireland; † 6 April 2007) was Bishop of Nottingham.

Life

James Joseph McGuinness received on June 3, 1950, ordained priest in Nottingham. He was by Paul VI in 1972. appointed as Coadjutor Bishop of the Diocese of Nottingham and appointed Titular Bishop Sanctus Germanus. 1974 he was appointed the eighth Bishop of Nottingham. His 2000 resignation of John Paul II was upheld.
