Jamie Parker

Jamie Parker ( born August 14, 1979 in Middlesbrough, North Yorkshire ) is a British film and stage actor.

Short Biography

Parker grew up in the Scottish capital Edinburgh, where he attended school. Even as a child he was in the UK's National Youth Music Theatre at the stage where he, like other successful young actors today Spier including Jamie Bell and Ben Barnes, a first experience. As a young man graduated from Parker the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, where he received his degree in 2002.

After minor stage engagements in Oxford and Chichester, followed in 2004 by his breakthrough when he was appointed to the Royal National Theatre, and there took a starring role in Alan Bennett's play The History Boys. Nearly two years he was in the scope of this piece in various theaters in England on stage between April and October 2006 even on Broadway in the USA. When the play was adapted into a film in the same year, the German-speaking under the title The History Boys - came Life-long learning in cinemas, even Parker was recruited as an actor.

Parker is known since 2002 as a film actor before the camera, but he was initially not well known except for the History Boys on the British national borders. First time in 2008 was Hollywood aware of him as a director Bryan Singer him for his film Valkyrie - undertook the Stauffenberg assassination. Parker embodied therein the German Nazi resistance fighter Werner von Haeften.

In 2007 he married actress Deborah Crowe, with whom he has a son.
