Jan Bárta

Jan Barta (born 7 December 1984) is a Czech cyclist.

Barta was 2003 Czech U23 champion in the road race. He received his first professional contract in 2005 at the Austrian Professional Continental team Elk Haus - Simplon. In his second season there he was again runner-up in the national road race in the U23 class. The road Cycling World Championships in Salzburg in 2006, he started in the road race in the U23 class, where he belegte.2007 he moved to 35th place behind the winner Gerald Ciolek of Team Union RC IVP / RCA Tyrolia. Since 2010, he runs for the German team NetApp. On 5 May 2012, he competed in Herning his first Giro d'Italia. He reached on the first Alpine stage to Cervinia, a second stage, behind Andrey Amador.
