Jan Olsson (footballer born 1944)

Mr Olsson ( born March 18, 1944 in Kungshamn ) is a former Swedish international footballer and football coach.

Career

Club career

Olsson made ​​his debut in 1965 for GAIS Gothenburg in Division 2 with seven goals in 21 games, he contributed to the resurgence of the club in the Allsvenskan in. In his first Erstligasaison he remained without a goal, without them entering the second year nine goals this season.

After he had met 16 times in 70 Premier League matches until the summer of 1969, Olsson moved to Germany in the Bundesliga for VfB Stuttgart. There, he scored in two seasons in 64 games scoring 20 goals. In 1970 he was awarded the Guldbollen as Sweden's Footballer of the Year.

In the summer of 1971, Olsson returned to his home country. Although GAIS 1970 was again relegated to the second division, he signed on again at his home club. National

Olsson played 22 internationals for Sweden. The country selection, he participated in the 1970 World Cup, failed in Sweden in the group stage to Italy and Uruguay.

Coaching career

In the season 1994/95 and 1995/96 Olsson was the coach of the German football division side Eintracht Braunschweig. He was released after fourteen months of service on 24 September 1995.
