Janet C. Wolfenbarger

Janet Carol Wolfenbarger (* 1958 in Beaver Creek, Ohio) is a general of the United States Air Force ( USAF) and since June 5, 2012 Befehlshaberin of the Air Force Materiel Command ( AFMC ), a major command of the USAF, based at Wright - Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio.

Wolfenbarger is the first woman, who held the rank of General in the U.S. Air Force, and to Ann Dunwoody, the U.S. Army Materiel Command initiated between 2008 and 2012, the second female general in the armed forces of the United States at all.

Education and Career

Wolfenbarger in 1980 to study at the United States Air Force Academy, Colorado, with a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering sciences from and appeared in the port as intelligence analyst at Eglin Air Force Base, Florida, to active duty.

Service in the rank of general

Between August 2005 and July 2006 Wolfenbarger served as Director Air Force Acquisition Center of Excellence in the Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Acquisition at the Pentagon and was promoted in this role on 1 February 2006 to brigadier general. Following use as Special Assistant for Command Transformation to the Commander followed the headquarters of the AFMC at Wright - Patterson Air Force Base, from January 2007, with additional responsibility for the Department of Intelligence and Requirements Directorate.
