Jang Hoon

Jang Hun (also Jang Hoon, born May 4, 1975 in Jeongseon, Gangwon -do) is a South Korean film director and screenwriter.

Career

Jang was born in Jeongseon in Gangwon Province. He studied visual communication at the Seoul National University and graduated with a Bachelor of Design from. After working as an assistant director Kim Ki -duk at the movies Bin- jip and Hwal. His debut film as a director was rough cut and was written and produced by Kim Ki -duk. This film, however, was more focused on commercial success, Kim Ki- duk's films as under own direction. His second film Secret Reunion (2010 ) was a great financial success. The film is about the friendship of a North Korean spy with his South Korean counterpart. His third film was financially successful and won several film awards. He also was a South Korean contribution to the nomination as " Best Foreign Film " at the Oscar ceremony in 2011, but was not nominated. In the same year, the documentary Arirang appeared - confessions of a filmmaker Kim Ki -duk, by this his deep crisis documented in a cinematic diary after an accident on a film set. It is a conflict between him and Jang Hun is clear he named herein because of its commercial films and his contract with the production company Showbox / Mediaplex a "traitor".
