Department

Jardín is a municipality in the Colombian department of Antioquia.

The town, about four hours away by car from Medellin, has 14,323 inhabitants ( 2005).

Geographical Location

Jardín is located between the Rio San Juan, by the indigenous inhabitants Docató ( Stony River ) and called a mountain range of the Western Cordilleras. In addition, the Claro and Dojurgo flow through the urban area.

The temperate and rainy climate of the rich favored city in the surrounding areas, the production of coffee, bananas, yuca, gooseberry and granadilla. The abundance of water the Kordillerenflüsse allowed the farming of trout.
