Jarošov nad Nežárkou

Jarošov nad Nežárkou (in Czech until 1923: Jarošov; German Jareschau at the Naser, also Jerischau ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located seven kilometers north-east of Jindřichův Hradec and belongs to Okres Jindřichův Hradec.

Geography

Jarošov is located at the confluence of Kamenice and Žirovnice to Nežárka in the foothills of the Bohemian- Moravian Highlands in southern Bohemia. South-east rises the 592 m high Myslivna.

By Jarošov the European Route 551 leads south along the Žirovnice, is the railway line Jindřichův Hradec - Pelhřimov. At this distance Jarošov owns outside of town in an industrial area a station. Through the valley of Kamenice leads to the north west, the narrow-gauge railway Jindřichův Hradec - Obrataň, train stop Lovětín is located on the near the forest Hlubokodol.

Neighboring towns are Nekrasín in the north, and Hostějeves Bednárec in the northeast, Matejovec the southeast, Kruplov in the south, Rodvínov and Horni Skrýchov the southwest, Dolni Radouň in the west and Hlubokodol and Lovětín in the northwest.

History

Jarošov was first documented in the year 1340. It is believed that the village was founded around 1184 by the Witigonen. The resident Bednárec Waldensian also won in Jarošov especially among the German population to influence. 1,558 Utraquist Thomas Reschelius ( Tomáš Tessa ) was pastor in Jarošov. He was the only Hussite priest. In 1558, the stately lime kiln was built.

During the Thirty Years War, the inhabitants suffered distress and were repeatedly ravaged by war durchziehendem people. 1780 was the stone bridge over the Kamenice.

1920 requested the municipality Jarošov a name change in Jarošov nad Nežárkou, which was approved three years later.
