Jasień, Lubusz Voivodeship

Jasień [' jaɕeɲ ] ( German streets ) is a town in western Poland with 4,875 inhabitants. It is located five kilometers south-east of Lubsko ( Sommerfeld) at the Lubsza ( Lubst ) and belongs to the powiat Żarski, Lubusz Province on.

History

The first mention of the village streets dates from the year 1321. Until 1642 the village belonged to the lords of Wiedebach. After the male line of the Wiedebach was extinguished, the Lieutenant Colonel Rudolf von Bünau became the new landlord. The Saxon noblewoman who was in 1656 appointed Governor of Lower Lusatia, acquired an additional villages and allowed Protestant religious refugees from Silesia the settlement. The newly created site received its town charter on January 24, 1660 Duke Christian I.. The village and the manor were henceforth referred to as Old streets and remained independent. By the year 1855, the town belonged to the basic rule and the landlord was responsible for the confirmation of the Council members. During the Seven Years War, the Bünauer lost their goods in the Lausitz. Abraham Gottfried Philip of Rabenau 1776 was lord of streets and erected in 1780 the castle, which since 1881 houses the Town Hall. 1815 came streets as part of Lower Lusatia to Prussia, and in 1818 part of the district Sorau.

In the middle of the 19th century settled in streets industries where the most famous of which was the engine works and iron foundry Founded in 1856, Theodor Flöther.

1944, a subcamp of Gross-Rosen concentration camp was built in alleys. After the Second World War the city became part of Poland.
