Jason Altmire

Jason Altmire ( born March 7, 1968 in Kittanning, Armstrong County, Pennsylvania) is an American politician. Between 2007 and 2013 he represented the State of Pennsylvania in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

Jason Altmire first visited the Burrell High School, where he was a successful football player to a knee injury. By 1990, he then studied at Florida State University in Tallahassee. This was followed up in 1998 to study at the George Washington University in Washington DC of. Between 1991 and 1996 he was on the staff of Congressman Pete Peterson of Florida. In 1998 he returned to Pennsylvania, where he worked for the Medical Center of the University of Pittsburgh. He was also a member of numerous social organizations. Politically, he was a member of the Democratic Party.

In the congressional elections of 2006, Altmire was selected in the fourth electoral district of Pennsylvania in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington, where he became the successor of Melissa Hart on January 3, 2007. After two re- elections he could implement his mandate in Congress until January 3, 2013. Since he could not prevail against Mark Critz in the primaries of his party in April 2012, he was not nominated for re-election. Altmire was considered moderate deputy. He was a member of the Committee on Education and Labor and the Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure, and in five sub-committees.
