Jaume Collet-Serra

Jaume Collet- Serra ( born March 23, 1974 in Sant Iscle de Vallalta, Barcelona Province ) is an internationally operating Spanish film director. His best known work is the thriller Identity Unknown starring Liam Neeson in the title role.

Life

Collet- Serra, who was already a movie fan as a child, moved with 18 of his Catalan home to Los Angeles and attended film school, Columbia College Hollywood. In addition, he worked as an editor. As cinematic influences he cites directors such as David Fincher, Spike Jonze and Mark Romanek. His graduation film at film school was a music video that earned him an obligation as a music video director. As a result, he was able to establish itself as an advertising film director for large agencies and well-known brands. His surreal and often dark imagery caught the attention of film producer Joel Silver, who hired him as a director for the horror film House of Wax published in 2005. Collet- Serra's second feature film in 2007 was the European football movie Goal II - The dream is real!. The horror thriller Orphan - The Orphan (2009) he turned well for Joel Silver's Dark Castle Entertainment as his next movie Unknown Identity (Original Title: Unknown ), which was created under the working title Unknown White Male in early 2010 in collaboration with Studio Babelsberg in Berlin and Potsdam. The star in this thriller, Liam Neeson, Diane Kruger and January Jones. Many German -speaking actors are involved, among other things, Sebastian Koch and Bruno Ganz. To the international premiere of the film was invited to the Competition program of the Berlinale 2011, where he ran out of competition.
