Career

Nekounam played in his youth for the Iranian club Saipa Tehran. His breakthrough came with his move to Iranian top club Pas Tehran, the Iranian master he was in season 2003/ 04. He left Pas Tehran after seven successful years and signed a contract with Al Wahda in the UAE.

In January 2006, he then moved on to league rivals Al- Sharjah. Nekounams good and consistent performances in the professional league of the Emirates made ​​him the object of desire.
