Jay Boekelheide

Jay G. Boekelheide ( born May 13, 1946) is an American editor and sound engineer, who in 1984 won the Oscar for best sound editing.

Life

Jay Boekelheide, brother of the sound engineer and film composer Todd Boekelheide, began his career in the film industry in Hollywood in 1979, first as assistant editor in Apocalypse Now. After 1980 he worked mainly as a sound engineer and worked until 2010 in the production of 35 films.

At the Academy Awards in 1984 he won the Oscar for best sound editing in the stuff of which heroes are the (1983 ) by Philip Kaufman with Sam Shepard, Scott Glenn and Ed Harris in the lead roles.
