Jayavarman I.

Jayavarman I ( Khmer: ព្រះបាទ ជ័យវរ្ម័ន ទី 1, † 681 ) was between about 657 and 681 King in Cambodia and is considered by some scholars as the first king of the Khmer Empire of Angkor, which develops in his time out of the realm Chenla ( Kamboja ) should have; traditionally named as the founder of Angkor Jayavarman II and Jayavarman I. considered the king of Chenla. Establishment of a new empire

  • Rajasabhapadi or Hofvorstehers
  • Hotar or chief priest
  • Mahasvaphadi as governor of Sresthrapura
  • Samantagajapad or superintendent of the royal elephant troops
  • Dhanyakarapadi or superintendent of the granaries.

Since Jayavarman left no male heir, the kingdom was divided, and fell again into the chaos of the previous decades. Jayavarman I died in 681

Many researchers Jayavarman II is considered the real founder of Angkor. He reigned at the beginning of the 9th century.
