Jean Antoine Zinnen

Johann Anton (also: Jean -Antoine ) pinnacles ( born April 25, 1827 in New Castle in the Prussian Rhine province, † May 16, 1898 in Neuilly -sur -Seine near Paris) was a German - Luxembourgish musician and composer. From him is the melody of the Luxembourg National Anthem Ons Heemecht.

Life

Zinnens mother died when he was six years old. Then his father Johann Baptist drew battlements (Jean -Baptiste battlements ) together with his children Johann -Anton, Karoline Mathilde and in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, first by Clervaux, Diekirch and then to rock. Johann Anton was discovered very early talent for music and supported by his father, who was himself an enthusiastic brass band and the 1836 Felser Musikverein founded and directed. At the Place Guillaume II, a place in the city of Luxembourg, in 1927 a commemorative plaque on the house was attached to the 100th anniversary of his birth, where he gave music lessons. In New Castle on the battlements place a memorial stone was erected with a commemorative plaque.
