Neuerburg

The city of New Castle ( dialect: " Neierbuersch " ) is a town in the district of Bitburg -Prüm, in Rhineland -Palatinate. It is the administrative seat of the collective municipality of New Castle, which it also belongs. New Castle is a nationally recognized health resort and reported as a secondary center in accordance with state planning.

Geography

New Castle is located in the valley of the Enz and the wooded slopes of the existing slate rock surrounding mountains in the western Eifel. Is the eponymous New Castle above the town on a mountain spur.

First records of the place was in a town charter in 1332. Frederick, Lord of Brandenburg ( Luxembourg ) and New Castle, sealed the inhabitants of the town 's freedom. The castle itself dates back to the 12th century, when the feudal lords of the county of Vianden were tributary.

Economy
