Dauwelshausen

Dauwelshausen is a municipality in the district of Bitburg -Prüm, in Rhineland -Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality New Castle.

Geography

Dauwelshausen is located in the South Eifel nature. The municipality also includes the living space Thielenhof.

History

By the end of the 18th century Dauwelshausen belonged to the county of Vianden in Luxembourg. Three-story property are recorded in 1615, which belonged to the dairy Karlshausen. The oldest surviving houses date back to the 17th century.

With the annexation of the Austrian Netherlands, which included Luxembourg and thus Dauwelshausen, by French revolutionary troops, the village belonged from 1795 to 1814 to the French between forests department.

1815 essential parts of the Rhineland, and thus Dauwelshausen were assigned to the Kingdom of Prussia at the Congress of Vienna of 1816 at the place of the mayor's Koxhausen was administered.
