Scheuern

Scrub is a municipality in the district of Bitburg -Prüm, in Rhineland -Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality New Castle.

Geography

Scrub is in the South Eifel nature. To Scrub includes the hamlet Altscheuern well as residential places Conrathshof and Palzkillshof.

History

The first mention chafing comes from the 12th century, the city was probably founded by the monks of the Abbey of Prüm. More details about the origin is not clear from the traditions. The place belonged to the late 18th century to rule New Castle in the Duchy of Luxembourg ( district Vianden ). With the occupation of the left bank of the Rhine in 1794 by French revolutionary troops, the place was French, 1815, he was assigned to the Kingdom of Prussia at the Congress of Vienna.
