Rodershausen

Rodershausen is a municipality in the district of Bitburg -Prüm, in Rhineland -Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality New Castle.

History

A chapel to Ruterszhusen was performed in a visitation report of the year 1570. By the end of the 18th century the village belonged to the county of Vianden in Luxembourg. After the annexation of the Eifel region of France 1794/95, a 20 -year-old French rule began. Then Rodershausen came as part of the district Bitburg for the Prussian Rhine Province and in 1856 part of the mayor's New Castle Land. After the First World War temporarily occupied by the French, the place is since 1946 part of Rhineland- Palatinate then newly founded.

Parish council

The local council in Rodershausen consists of six council members, who were elected at the municipal election held on 7 June 2009 by majority vote, and the honorary mayor as chairman.

Attractions

The Church of St. James the Great was built in 1896 on the site of the previous building in neo-Gothic style letter prefix west tower and three-sided choir new and renovated in 1975. It is equipped since 2006 with a Keates organ from 1920.
