Jean-Baptiste Capronnier
Jean -Baptiste Capronnier ( born February 1, 1814 Paris, † July 31, 1891 in Schaerbeek ) was a glass painter who endowed many churches in Belgium and other European countries with lead glass windows.
Life
Jean -Baptiste Capronnier was the son of the glass painter François Capronnier. This initially worked for the porcelain factory in Sèvres and settled in 1830 in Schaerbeek as a glass painter down. 1840 took over Jean -Baptiste Capronnier his father's workshop and developed it to the most prestigious glass painting workshop in Belgium. He worked with, among others, the painters Charles de Groux (1825-1870) and Constantin Meunier (1831-1905), who created many boxes as a template for its stained glass windows.

The city Schaerbeek, where Jean -Baptiste Capronnier in the Rue Rogier ( first house after house No. 246, No. 251 ) lived, named a street after him.
