Jefferson Avenue–Huron River and Harbin Drive–Silver Creek Canal Bridges

Jefferson Avenue - Huron River and Harbin Drive- Silver Creek Canal Bridges is the name under which two separate road bridges in Michigan that have a common railings, on 10 February 2000 under the Highway Bridges of Michigan MPS in the National Register of Historic Places were taken.

The Jefferson Avenue Bridge crosses the West Jefferson Avenue ( this is south of the river than U.S. Turnpike known) on the Huron River and connects the Brownstown Charter Township, Wayne County with the Berlin Charter Township in Monroe County. It is the only entry in the National Register in Michigan, which lies on the border between two different counties. The Harbin Drive Bridge is located entirely within the Wayne County and is approximately at right angles to the Jefferson Avenue Bridge. Both bridges are located about 1.5 km inland from Lake Erie at a historically important connection between Detroit and Toledo.

Jefferson Avenue Bridge

The larger of the two bridges with the three spans 50.3 meters long and 11 meters wide, Jefferson Avenue Bridge. It performs the two-lane north of Huron Rivers West Jefferson Avenue and south of the river than U.S. Turnpike known road over the river. It was built in 1930 by the Michigan Department of Transportation and replaced an earlier moved with muscle power swing bridge at this point. The new girder bridge was built high enough that she could be stationary, yet smaller ships allowed the passage. Due to the volume of traffic that crosses the bridge, the building has suffered in recent years.

Harbin Drive Bridge

The Harbin Drive Bridge is a much smaller bridge. It is only 13.7 m long and 8.2 m wide. About it the only little traffic Harbin Drive via the Silver Creek Canal, which empties into the Huron River. The building is located just north of Jefferson Avenue Bridge and both bridges are connected by a continuous railing. This bridge was built a few years earlier than the larger building next to it, but the exact year of construction is not known. The Harbin Drive is a gravel road that connects a few houses on a narrow island in the river to the main road.
