Criticism of Herf

Wolin writes in "The Chronicle " in 2009, the survival of the ultimate anti- religious Nazism in Arabia since 1945 has been very limited. Nasser is more of a Stalinist been as a Nazi fellow -traveler, despite Johann von Leers ' employment. The CIA has a lot of high Nazis continue to be employed without having to be alone thus become fascist. Gamal Abdel Nasser was certainly against the Muslim Brotherhood; he was Sayyid Qutb executed. Only in his later writings, especially "Our struggle with the jews " there is a clear Islamic - fascist link that was then taken up by al - Qaeda and other Salafi. Wolin says that Herf weighted too heavily the world of ideas; but the history of the Arab countries and the emergence of Osama bin Laden and al - Qaeda depend primarily on real events in this space, less of ideas and their propaganda by the Nazis before and after 1945, individual muftis and imams from. Especially Wahabism has much stronger result in a boom of the reactionary political Islamism, as the Mufti - Galani - Leers - line has ever managed.
