Jegihorn

Jegihorn from the southeast, from the Weissmieshütte

The Jegihorn is 3,206, 3 m above sea level. M. high mountain in the Pennine Alps. It is situated above Saas Grund on the eastern side of the Saas Valley. It forms the western end of the Jegigrates, which merges into the Fletschhorn - western flank to the east -northeast.

Starting point for an ascent is the Weissmieshütte ( 2'726 m), which is the Saas Grund - Hohsaas train reached best from the middle station cross the floor ( 2'397 m). The mountain is climbable even as a day trip, especially if you use the web.

The Summit provides a comprehensive panorama of the four thousand meter Mischabelgruppe. He also gives a good insight into the rise of the routes nearby three main peaks of the White Mies group Fletschhorn, Lagginhorn and Weissmies.

Summit routes

The normal route through the southern flank, is mostly marked and is also accessible for experienced hikers. Are about two hours to plan for the increase of the white Mies hut.

In 2000, a climbing wall was built at the Jegihorn. The so-called panoramic via ferrata is among the highest climbing routes in the Alps.
