Jemima Jelagat Sumgong
Jemima Jelagat Sumgong (* 1985) is a Kenyan marathon runner.
In 2004 she won the half-marathon competition of the North Sea Beach Marathon.
In 2006, she was second in the Newport 10,000 each and the Peachtree Road Race, the third Boilermaker 15K and won the Las Vegas Marathon. The following year she was third at the Azalea Trail Run and Fourth at the Frankfurt Marathon. 2008 was followed by a second place at the Rock ' n ' Roll Marathon. 2010, they were each fifth at the Berlin Marathon and the Rock ' n ' Roll Marathon.
After a maternity leave she won in 2011 at the Castellón - marathon. In 2012 she set a course record at the Lago Maggiore Half Marathon and was second in the Boston Marathon.
Jemima Jelagat Sumgong is married to her fellow runners Noah Talam and mother of a daughter. She is employed by the Kenyan armed forces since 2009 and is trained in Kapsabet by Italian Claudio Beradelli.
