Jenn Suhr

Jennifer Suhr ( also: Jenn Suhr; born February 5, 1982 in Fredonia, Chautauqua County, New York) is an American pole vaulter, which started under her birth name Jennifer Stuczynski until her marriage in January 2010.

The Olympic Champion of 2012, with 4.92 m ( established on 6 July 2008) U.S. record holder and holds 5.02 m ( established on March 2, 2013) the world indoor record.

Career

During her school years and her studies at Roberts Wesleyan College, she was an excellent basketball player and operating the way athletics.

Only in 2004 they started with the pole vault. As early as 2005 it was the first time U.S. champion hall, and in 2006 she won the national title in the open air. In 2007, she won both titles, set with 4.88 meters, a North American record and was tenth at the World Championships in Osaka.

In 2008 she won with 4.75 m silver medal at the World Indoor Championships in Valencia, improved at the U.S. Championships their North American record to 4.92 m and won the silver medal at the Olympic Games in Beijing, beaten only by the world record holder Yelena Isinbayeva.

In 2009 she improved twice the national indoor record and won both the indoor and outdoor U.S. title. In January 2010, Jennifer married her coach Rick Suhr Stuczynski and took his last name. With 4.89 m, which she led the worlds best list of the year 2010, Jennifer Suhr was in June for the fifth consecutive time U.S. champion outdoors.

At the World Athletics Championships 2011 in Daegu, South Korea Suhr was skipped 4.70m Fourth. A year later she became Olympic champion in London, beating among others, the world record holder Yelena Isinbayeva. At the World Championships 2013 in Moscow Suhr won with 4.82 m behind Isinbayeva the silver medal.

On 2 March 2013, it improved at the U.S. Indoor Championships the world record to 5.02 meters.

Jennifer Suhr is 1.83 meters tall and weighs 64 kg. She has a degree in psychology with a Bachelors Degree.
