Jennifer Capriati

Jennifer Marie Capriati ( born March 29, 1976 in Long Iceland, New York) is a former American tennis player.

Career

Capriati was trained early on by her father Stephano Capriati. In her youth she was coached by Jimmy Evert ( the father of tennis player Chris Evert ). On March 5, 1990, she took at the age of 13 years for the first time in Boca Raton at a WTA tournament. A short time later, she became the youngest player to ever reached a final in professional tennis. At the tournament on Hilton Head she beat Arantxa Sanchez - Vicario with the then number five in the world and failed only in the ending to Martina Navratilova. At this time, Capriati was 13 years and 11 months old. On April 9, 1990, she appeared as number 25 on the world rankings for the first time.

Your first title she won in Puerto Rico, as they defeated in the final Zina Garrison. Capriati was it the fourth youngest player to have won a title.
