Jenny Schmidgall-Potter

Jenny Potter ( born Schmidgall, born January 12, 1979 in Edina, Minnesota) is an American ice hockey player who with the national team of the United States the gold medal at the 1998 Winter Olympics, the silver medal at the Winter Games in 2002 and 2010 and the bronze medal at the 2006 Winter Games has won. Parallel she plays since 2006 for the Minnesota Whitecaps in the Western Women's Hockey League.

Career

NCAA

Jenny Potter spilte total of four years of college hockey in the NCAA, including three years for the University of Minnesota Duluth ( UMD Bulldogs ) and one year for the University of Minnesota. During this time she gained as many points scorer for the UMD Bulldogs like no other player before or since. In addition, she was repeatedly elected to the All-American team and 2009 in the WCHA All- Decade Team. In 2004 she finished her studies with a Bachelor of Business Administration.

Following her college career, Potter took part in the Olympic preparations with the national team.

Minnesota Whitecaps

During the 2006/07 season Potter debuted for the Minnesota Whitecaps in the Western Women's Hockey League. With the Whitecaps in 2009 she won the championship of the WWHL and was named most valuable player. A year later, she won her team the most important trophy in professional woman ice hockey, the Clarkson Cup.

Internationally

Jenny Potter began early in her career, to represent the United States internationally. She was a member of the junior national teams of the United States. In 1997, she debuted at the 3 Nations Cup for the women's national team and then became part of the tribe squad at world championships and tournaments of the 3/4 Nations Cup. In 1998, she was also in the squad for the Olympic Winter Games in Nagano and won at the age of 19 years, as the second- youngest of her team, the gold medal at the inaugural Women Hockey Tournament. She participated in three other Olympic Winter Games, where she won two silver and one bronze medal. In addition, they ran (until 2012 ) to a total of ten World Championships and reached a total of four gold and six silver medals.

Private

Jenny Schmidgall Potter married Rob in 2001 and is the mother of two children. During the 2000/ 01 season she paused from college hockey and brought her daughter Madison to the world. Her son, Cullen was born in 2007. With her husband Rob Jenny Potter organized in summer hockey training camp under the name " Potter's Pure Hockey".
