Jesse Ferguson

Jesse Ferguson ( born March 20, 1957 in Philadelphia ) is a former American professional boxer in the 1980s and 1990s.

Ferguson began his professional career in 1983. During the 1980s, he was considered a great talent, but the expectations placed in him could not ultimately comply.

In 1986, he lost to only 19 -year-old Mike Tyson in his first fight, which was televised by demolition in round 6

In his only fight for a world title he lost on May 22 of 1993, in the second round against Riddick Bowe by KO. Most of the other fights against well-known boxers such as James Smith, Orlin Norris, Oliver McCall, Bruce Seldon, Michael Dokes, Tony Tubbs, Frank Bruno, Larry Holmes and Hasim Rahman, he could not decide for themselves.

However, he could win against two future heavyweight champion Buster Douglas and Ray Mercer, each a victory on points.

His last fight as a professional, he played on 30 January 1999, compared Andrzej Gołota and had to admit defeat here.
