Jessica Zelinka

Jessica Zelinka ( born September 3, 1981 in London, Ontario ) is a Canadian track and field athlete with the special disciplines heptathlon and 100 - meter hurdles.

In the heptathlon in 2005 she was at the World Athletics Championships in Helsinki Eleventh and missed at the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne with a fourth place just a medal. In 2007 she won gold in this event at the Pan American Games in Rio de Janeiro, and in 2008 they finished sixth at the Olympic Games in Beijing.

After a maternity leave she put 2010 her career as a heptathlete for and won a silver medal at the Commonwealth Games in Delhi. In 2011 she finished ninth at the World Championships in Daegu.

In 2012 she qualified for both the 100m hurdles as well as in the heptathlon for the Olympic Games in London, and came in both disciplines to seventh place. At the 2013 World Championships in Moscow she reached the semi-finals over 100m hurdles.

So far it has been six times Canadian champion in the heptathlon ( 2001, 2004, 2005, 2008, 2010, 2012 ) and once over 100 m hurdles (2012 ). Four times they improved the national heptathlon record.

Jessica Zelinka is married to the water polo player Nathaniel Miller.
