Geographical Location

It lies north of the nature reserve park Lüneburg Heath and south of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg.

History

The Samtgemeinde Jesteburg has been formed by the law of the restructuring of municipalities in Lower Saxony on June 23, 1972 from the previously independent municipalities Bendestorf, Harmstorf, Jesteburg and Lüllau.
