Jim Bilba

Jim Bilba (* April 17, 1968 in Pointe -à- Pitre ), called trampoline, is a French professional basketball player and former captain of the French national team. He won the silver medal with the national team at the Summer Olympics 2000. He is currently working as an assistant coach for the French club Cholet Basket.

Career as a player

Jim Bilba was discovered by Cholet Basket on his home island. With Cholet he took his first steps on the European stage. His first international experience from Bimba 1988/89 in the European Cup of Champions, where you eliminated against Real Madrid.

In 1992, he joined the CSP Limoges. This club began his sporting achievements. He won his first French title in 1993. Equally successful was the participation in the European Champions Cup. With victories in the Final Four against Real Madrid with Arvydas Sabonis and against Benetton Treviso with Toni Kukoč Bilba won with Limoges the title. In the following year Bilba won with Limoges turn the French championship and in 1995 they came back to the Final Four of the National Champion Cup.

At the beginning of the season 1996/97 he moved to ASVEL Lyon- Villeurbanne. In his first season he reached with ASVEL again the Final Four. During his years in Villeurbanne he came with his team four times in the final of the French Championship, but never won the title. In this time were the successes in the national team, was appointed in 1996 Bilba captain and with the 2000 he won the silver medal at the Olympic Games in Sydney.

After the victorious French Cup final in 2001 Bilba moved to Greece for AEK Athens. Again he won in his first year, the Greek Cup, but left the club because of economic problems.

After a Einmonatsvertrag with the Spanish club Tau Vitoria, he returned to Cholet Basket. He finished his career in 2007.

Career as a coach

Since the 2008/2009 season, he is Kotrainer at Cholet.
