Joan Gamper Trophy
The Torneig Joan Gamper, in short Torneig Gamper ( in German Joan Gamper tournament ), organized by the Spanish football club FC Barcelona tournament is in honor of Hans Gamper (in Catalan Joan Gamper ), founder of the club. The tournament is held annually in August. Participants are the FC Barcelona as host and other leading teams.
Previously often were also South American teams and the European Champion - other Spanish teams were only occasionally invited. The tournament was played usually with four teams. Due to the earlier onset of national and international championships since 1997, only the FC Barcelona will play against a selected opponent.
