Jōdo-shū

Jōdo Shuu (Japanese净土 宗, dt " the Pure Land ") is a donated by honing in 1198 school of Japanese Buddhism, which is attributable to the Amida Buddhism. It is an analogue of the resultant in the 5th century Chinese school of Pure Land (Chinese净土 宗pinyin jìngtǔzōng ).

In the center of teaching confidence in the healing giving power of the transcendent Buddha Amitabha is (Japanese阿 弥陀, Amida ) and hope for a rebirth in his Pure Land (净土, jìngtǔ; jap Jōdo ).

From Jōdo shū went in the 13th century, the (now larger) Jodo Shinshu forth.
