Joe Public FC

The Joe Public Football Club is a football team from Tunapuna, Trinidad and Tobago. The club plays in the highest soccer league in the country, the TT Pro League.

Also known as the Eastern Lions club is owned by the former FIFA Vice President and CONCACAF President Jack Warner.

History

1996 did not make the national team of Trinidad and Tobago, to qualify for the World Cup 1998. From this circumstance Austin " Jake" Warner wanted to start a professional league to promote players in their own country better so as to bring about a better outcome for future World Cups. Thus Warner also founded the Joe Public Football Club, intend to prepare for his future.

In 1996 the team for the first time in the competitions of the Eastern Football Association and some gained them also. Thus the team for the Trinidad and Tobago Football Association 's Champion of Champions Tournament, which could also be obtained is qualified. In 1997, the Joe Public participate in the Semi- Professional Football League ( SPFL ) and finished it on the second place. During the first years Warner established in his club professional structures, which until then no club had on the two islands.

1998 was the team champion in the Craven A SPFL League and won the CFU Club Championship. Thus, they failed to qualify for the CONCACAF Champions ' Cup, where you had to admit defeat in his first game.
